Your Booking Code:

Bookings for Short Breaks are only available for young people who are registered for the programme. It is essential that all young people meet a member of our team to confirm their needs can be met and that the club is a good fit. Once this has been agreed, the young person is registered for the club and you'll be provided with a booking code.

If you already have a booking code, please enter it here.

Club for young people aged 8-17 with additional needs

Our Additional Needs Club offers children and young people aged 8–17 with mild to moderate additional needs or special educational needs (SEN) the chance to enjoy outdoor activities, learn new skills and build confidence in a supportive environment. Sessions take place during school holidays, giving parents and carers a well-deserved break.

Who is it for?

The club is for children and young people aged 8–17 who live in Kent and have mild to moderate additional needs or SEN.

To get the most out of sessions, young people need to be able to:

✔️ Take part without one-to-one support
✔️ Join in group activities while respecting others
✔️
Follow basic instructions
✔️
Manage their personal care needs independently

We want every child to have a positive experience but recognise that some children may need more individual support or flexibility than we can provide. Please get in touch so we can discuss your child's needs and the support we can offer.

What happens at the club?

Activities vary with the seasons and the needs of the group. They may include:

🌳 Exploring woodland trails and nature
🏠 Den building, bushcraft and outdoor skills
🎨 Arts, crafts and cooking
🥕 Gardening and harvesting vegetables
🐞 Minibeast hunts and wildlife exploration

Experienced tutors lead all activities, creating opportunities for young people to develop confidence, self-esteem and independence while enjoying the natural world.

Sessions are for children and young people only. Parents and carers drop off and collect at the designated times.

How to join

A pre-visit is required for all new children. This gives you and your child the opportunity to visit with a parent or carer, meet us and discuss their needs so we can make sure the club is a suitable fit. After the pre-visit, you'll receive a booking code to register online. To arrange a pre-visit or discuss your child's suitability, email education@boreplace.org.

A big thank you to Kent County Council for helping to subsidise the club through its Short Breaks programme.

Please note tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to another event. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else (please let us know the name and email address of the attendee), otherwise your ticket fee will be considered a donation to the Commonwork Trust.
