Our beautiful setting and aura of being away from it all is the perfect environment to inspire fresh thinking. Situated just 35 miles from London in peaceful Kent countryside, our sustainable and eco-friendly principles are at the heart of everything we do. We regularly welcome public bodies, social enterprises, commercial businesses, as well as writers, artists and musicians.

Our aim is to provide you with the setting and space to enable you to hold a truly special event that fosters creativity and effective working. With access to the wider 500-acre estate, as well as beautiful gardens, Bore Place is an ideal venue for those looking to feel the benefits of nature.

Experiences

We offer a selection of inspiring and different activities and workshops. From yoghurt making to wildlife walks to den building to yoga, we offer something for everyone. Choose whether you want to be indoors or outdoors, all our experiences can be tailor made to suit your group’s requirements. These are ideal for teambuilding, as well as great fun! The activities are designed to help you get the most out of your stay as well as enabling you to find out a bit about Bore Place.

Food

Our kitchen serves locally sourced food, organic where possible. Our own market garden supplies many of the vegetables and we work with other local farms and growers to ensure that the menu reflects the seasonality of Kent. Our menus are often plant based but we are also happy to serve carefully selected organic or local meat as well. We cater for all dietary requirements, including vegans and vegetarians.

Spaces

Bore Place offers flexible spaces that suit both smaller and larger groups. You may take the whole site or choose which buildings meet your needs. The historic house and nearby converted farm buildings can be hired individually or in combination and you will have exclusive use of the space you have booked.

The Large Barn

Most large groups staying with us hire our Large Barn which is ideal for group practice and large meetings. Warm, yet spacious with high ceilings and original beams, the barn can easily accommodate 20 people practising yoga and up to 150 people conference style. The barn is equipped with a basic kitchen as well as toilets. It overlooks our courtyard area and is adjacent to the Old Stable.

Overnight Accommodation

Bore Place can accommodate 30 people single occupancy or 50-60 sharing rooms. You can choose whether your event is self-catered or whether we provide food for you. All of the accommodation is very comfortable with an outlook on to the Bore Place gardens. Nine of our bedrooms have private bathrooms, the others share (approx. 2-3 rooms to a bathroom).

Sustainability at Bore Place

Bore Place is a regenerative site, and our farm has been certified organic for over 20 years. We are working towards improving the estate’s biodiversity, reducing carbon emissions to zero by 2030, as well as minimising our energy and water consumption. We generate our own electricity on-site through PV panels and a wind turbine and we are committed to recycling our waste and water. By choosing Bore Place you are contributing towards our wider work as well as minimising the impact of your retreat.

We book Bore Place every year for our staff retreat! We absolutely love the space, which is great for getting us all out in nature and away from our desks in central London. Bore Place House is particularly nice, with a lovely area to sit outside in the summer by the firepit. The staff are always incredibly attentive, helpful, and quick at responding to any queries. The catered lunches and dinner were also delicious (as were the cakes!) and perfectly catered for our specific dietaries. We all came away full and wishing we could stay for longer!
