Interested in working outdoors and building a career in land-based work?
Come along to our Open Morning at Bore Place to find out more about our new Young Agriculturalists Programme.
Designed for young people aged 16–25 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), this free programme offers the opportunity to gain practical work experience, develop new skills and take the first steps towards a career in agriculture, horticulture, conservation or land management.
Based on our 500-acre organic estate in Kent, the programme combines hands-on outdoor learning with opportunities to connect with nature, build confidence and gain a nationally recognised Level 1 qualification in Land-Based Studies.
The programme runs one day per week, on Fridays, and starts in January 2027.
Is it really free? The Young Agriculturalists Programme is fully funded by the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, so there is no cost to attend.
At the Open Morning, you can:
- meet the programme leader
- find out more about what the programme involves
- hear about the skills you'll develop and the opportunities it could lead to.
Parents and carers are very welcome to attend too, so you can ask questions and learn more together.
Important info:
- Please come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy boots/wellies for a tour of the estate.
Tea, coffee and squash will be provided. If you're planning to come along, please book a place in advance. This will help us get an idea of how many people to expect. Thank you!
