Join us for a beautiful spring, birdsong-filled morning

As the songbird breeding season begins to peak, now is the perfect time to tune your ears into their love songs. Enjoy the very best the spring season has to offer! Guided by local ecologist and bird expert (and occasional bird mimic!) Tom Forward, you will explore the woodlands, hedgerows and waterways of the Bore Place estate in search of the birds that call this place home. Tom will help you to identify and learn the different songs of our resident birds, tuning you in to the sounds of your garden and local area.

What to wear/bring

  • Dress for the weather
  • Sturdy boots essential, such as wellies or walking boots
  • Bring a flask to enjoy a warm drink at a picturesque viewpoint
  • Please bring binoculars if you have them

Important info

  • Sorry, no dogs!

If you’ve ever joined one of Tom Forward's walks you’ll know that he has a superpower – he can tune into birdsong like a radio and instantly identify who's singing! Tom has a degree in Environmental Management and has more than 20 years' experience as an ecologist and environmental educator dedicated to conservation and sharing his enthusiasm for nature and wildlife with others.
