Teddy Bears' Picnic

Event closed

We're sorry, this event has now passed.

If you go down to the woods today... Younger children will have a wonderful morning exploring our vegetable garden, spotting the bears hiding amongst the seasonal produce and harvesting some cucumbers and tomatoes.

To prepare the picnic, they will make fresh sandwiches with our harvest (or even with some Bore Place honey, bears love honey!) and bake delicious scones. While the scones bake we will meet our herd of dairy cows and then enjoy our picnic together with our bears (and a story or two) in the Green Man Glade.

For the cooking activity, children will work in pairs and share what they have made between them to take home.

Important info

  • All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (free of charge) who can supervise and support them throughout the event.
  • Everyone attending (children and adults!) must wear suitable clothing for the activities and weather. It is essential to bring wellies for the farm tour, even if the weather is dry.
  • Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before the session is due to start to enable a prompt start.

This session is most suited to age 3-6, but you are welcome to book a place for older/younger children.

There will be time for a mid-morning snack if you want to bring one for your child, and you are welcome to use our picnic area after the event.
