A practical introduction to identifying our native amphibians

The breeding season is underway for frogs, toads and newts and with 29 ponds on the estate, Bore Place is a perfect venue for an encounter with our native amphibians, including the Great Crested Newt. Join wildlife experts Lynne and Pete for an indoor introductory session to learn about identification and ecology of native species, before heading out after dark to explore some of the ponds, practice fields skills, and take part in the annual pond survey.

A light supper of soup and a bread roll is included.

Dress for the weather, wellies essential! Bring a torch or head torch.

Involves some walking over gentle slopes, and muddy terrain and includes crossing stiles.
Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This training session is one of a programme of events in the Bore Place Wildlives and Wellbeing project. Keep an eye on our What’s On page for more wildlife identification training sessions, residential stays and Bioblitzes in Spring and Summer 2018. Sign up to our mailing list to keep updated.
