Can you volunteer some time to help plant the fruit and nut orchard in our new Community Garden?
You may have heard we are building a new Community Garden at Bore Place - watch a brief overview of the project here. An important feature of the garden is a brand new orchard and we are looking for volunteers who'd like to roll up their sleeves and plant some trees.
You don't need to have any previous experience of tree planting, just a moderate level of fitness and a willingness to get stuck in. Families are very welcome (children aged 8+), and we'll start with an introduction and briefing, before a day of tree planting. Lunch will be provided for everyone as a thank you for volunteering your time to support the garden!
Come and leave your mark on an orchard that will grow for years to come - it will be wonderful to watch it mature.
Important info:
- Please arrive at 9:45am ready for the 10am briefing.
- Please dress for the weather - we recommend layers! - and wear sturdy boots (steel-toe caps if you have them)
- Bring a flask (no electricity at the garden site)
- Please don't bring your own tools - all will be provided, but please do bring gardening gloves and a kneeling pad, if you have them (we have limited spares).
- Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
- Sorry, no dogs (other than assistance dogs)
- Let us know any dietary requirements when you book.

This project is supported by funding provided through the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme from Defra and the Kent Downs National Landscape (Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)
