Astronomy Evening: The Moon

Event closed

We're sorry, this event has now passed.

This evening is all about the Moon...

Have you ever wondered what the Moon looks like close up? Join the Edenbridge and District Astronomers to see the craters and mountains on the Moon Fingers crossed for a clear night so you can look through powerful telescopes to see the Moon in a whole new way.

The team will talk you through the observations and give hints and tips about other key astronomical objects or events you can look out for over the coming months, and will be on hand to answer questions about how you can get into astronomy at home.

If cloud, rain or wind prevents live observing, there will be indoor talks about the Moon and our journeys there, historically with Apollo and, in future, with Artemis.

It will be an informal evening led by the weather, so you'll take advantage of any gaps in the cloud as the aim is for practical observation whenever possible!

Suitable for all levels, no previous experience or knowledge is necessary. Tea, coffee and squash will be provided.

Please dress for the weather. It is advised that you bring boots to wear outside!
