Bookings for Short Breaks are only available for young people who are registered for the programme. It is essential that all young people meet a member of our team to confirm their needs can be met and that the club is a good fit. Once this has been agreed, the young person is registered for the club and you'll be provided with a booking code.

If you already have a booking code, please enter it here.

Holiday and Saturday Club for young people with additional needs in Kent

The Bore Place Additional Needs Club is designed for children and young people aged 8–17 with mild to moderate additional needs or SEN. Children enjoy outdoor activities, hands-on learning, and opportunities to develop confidence, independence, and life skills — while parents and carers enjoy a well-deserved break.

Who is it for? Children and young people aged 8–17 living in Kent with mild to moderate SEN or additional needs.

The club is suitable for young people who can:

  • Attend sessions independently, without 1:1 support
  • Participate in group activities without disrupting others
  • Follow basic instructions
  • Take care of personal needs

Note: The club may not be suitable for children with PDA or certain additional needs. Please contact us to discuss your child's needs.

Activities at the Club

Our sessions are seasonal and tailored to the group's needs. Activities include:

🌳Exploring woodland trails and nature
🏠 Den building, bushcraft, and outdoor skills
🎨 Arts, crafts, and cooking
🥕 Gardening and harvesting vegetables
🐞 Minibeast hunts and wildlife exploration

All activities are led by experienced tutors with a background in supporting children with a range of additional needs. Each session encourages confidence, self-esteem, independence, and a love of the natural world.

Sessions are for children only. Parents/carers drop off and collect at designated times.

Pre-visit required: All new children attend a pre-visit with a parent/carer to ensure the club is a suitable fit and that we can meet the child’s needs. Once the pre-visit is complete, you will receive the booking code to register online. To arrange a pre-visit or discuss your child’s suitability for the club, please email: education@boreplace.orgeducation@boreplace.org

A big thank you to Kent County Council for supporting this club through Short Breaks.

Please note tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to another event. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else (please let us know the name and email address of the attendee), otherwise your ticket fee will be considered a donation to the Commonwork Trust.
