Summer Holiday Club: Small Mammals

Event closed

We're sorry, this event has now passed.

After the success of our pilot holiday club programme last summer, this year brings a whole new programme of fun holiday mini-adventures for children. The perfect opportunity for parents to drop their children off for some healthy, outdoor holiday time exploring and enjoying the beautiful Bore Place organic farm estate. With our friendly and welcoming education team the children will have fun, make new friends and learn through doing.

Small Mammals
Drop your children off for a fun-filled day in search of the small furry creatures that make our farm their home. We will check the humane small mammal traps to see mice and voles close up and learn how to tell them apart before releasing them safely back into the wild. We’ll get forensic too and check through owl pellets to see what mammals they have been eating. Then we'll head out across the farm in search of the elusive brown hare and practice field craft to pick up the track and signs larger mammals such as deer, foxes and badgers and retrieve the trail camera to see who’s been captured on film when people are not about. There’ll be plenty of fun and games too!

Enjoy your picnic lunch around the campfire in the Green Man Glade.

Suitable for children aged 6-11 years. Parents/carers do not accompany children.
