Bird Prints and Cow Cookies

In this fun morning workshop, children will take part in two crafty activities – printmaking and baking cookies
Join Elaine Thompson, local artist and experienced workshop leader, and learn how to use bold shape, layer colours and use handmade printing techniques to make a relief print cards inspired by spring birds. You will be using recycled white polystyrene pizza bases for printing blocks – please bring one with you if you can!
Whilst the ink dries, children will then join one of our experienced Bore Place tutors to continue the theme of shape and colour and bake cow-shaped cookies inspired by the farm. Please note any relevant allergies at the time of booking.
Suitable for children aged 7+ accompanied by an adult. Course fee includes all printing materials and cooking ingredients.
Please arrive at 9:45am ready for a 10:00am start.
What to bring
- White polystyrene pizza base (if you can!)
- Apron for printmaking (if you have one, a few spares available if not)
- A mid-morning snack to have between workshops
About Elaine Thompson
Elaine Thompson is an artist based in Kent. She has exhibited her work in UK and Europe and is the recipient of various awards. She works in drawing, print and collage and is inspired by her local environment, conservation and wildlife. This year she exhibited drawings and prints inspired by woodland wildlife in Tyland Barn Gallery (KWT headquarters) in May 2017 and she exhibited work in South East Open Studios in June 2017. She delivers print workshops for children and adults in local schools, organizations and from her Garden Studio in Tonbridge.
