Organic Bread and Butter
Tuesday 1st August 9:45am - 1:00pm
Who doesn’t love bread and butter, and it’s even better when you have made it yourself!
Children will explore our organic vegetable garden to harvest some herbs for flavouring their butter. Back in the kitchen they will learn how to make bread and even grind some of their own flour for their rolls. They will also make their own butter and use what they have harvested to flavour it.
While the bread bakes there is the opportunity to have a tour of our farm and meet our dairy cows, before enjoying the fresh bread and butter in our gardens.
This session is most suited to children aged 7-11 years. Older or younger children are welcome to attend if parents/carers wish to book.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (who can come for free!)
Please arrive from 9:45am for a prompt 10:00am start.
Please note that all our summer holiday events include time spent outdoors around the farm, gardens and trails, so come prepared for the weather conditions with suitable clothing that won’t spoil if it gets a bit dirty and sturdy footwear.
We recommend sun hats, sunscreen, long-sleeved clothing for sunny days and waterproofs is there is a chance of rain.
Don’t forget your wellies which are essential for a visit to the farm!
