Mindful Stargazing

Number of Adults

Adult tickets: £35.00

When was the last time you looked up at the night sky with wide-eyed curiosity, appreciating the magic and awe of the stars? The practice of mindful stargazing is about immersing yourself in the experience of the night time and developing a first-hand, experiential knowledge of what it is not to look out at the Universe, but to feel part of it and live within it.

This evening is led by "ex-professional astronomer turned yoga and mindfulness teacher" Mark Westmoquette. During the evening we’ll be contemplating our place within the cosmos and our connections to it – scientifically, energetically and spiritually. Before going outside, we’ll practice a cosmic body scan, sensing different parts of our body and how they’re made of stuff that was produced in stars billions of years ago. We’ll then marvel at some images of star birth and death before going outdoors and getting settled with a view of the sky. After opening our senses, we’ll spend time experiencing the night sky as it is (clear or cloudy), and if it’s clear, finish with a tour of the stars and constellation myths.

☕ Hot drinks included.

Please note

  • This event will go ahead whatever the weather.
  • We recommend wearing layers as (weather permitting) we will be inside and outside.
  • Bring a yoga mat or similar to sit/lay outside.
