Community Garden

We’ve been awarded funding to create a brand new community garden and orchard at Bore Place, through the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme from Defra and the Kent Downs National Landscape (Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Community Garden

We’d love your support! We’re looking for volunteers to help build the garden, as well as people interested in growing food both for our kitchen and for themselves, or their community. If you’d like to get involved, please email communitygarden@boreplace.org to sign up.

This will sit alongside our existing education garden, which is still in use by visiting schools and young people, and our commercial market garden. The new project will trial climate-resilient and heritage crops in a real-world setting, helping us understand how farming can adapt to the challenges of climate change. Just as importantly, it will be a hands-on space for learning, volunteering, and community engagement, offering local people the chance to explore sustainable growing and reconnect with nature.
