Pollinator Pals!

Event closed

We're sorry, this event has now passed.

Bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies, bats... why are they so important?

This FREE family day out is all about pollinators and we want you to become Pollinator Pals

Did you know that insects make up over two thirds of all identified species? That's a lot of insects!

Pick up a sweep net and head off with insect expert, Tom Forward. Explore around the gardens, along the hedgerows and through the wildflower meadow to discover the wonderful world of our beautiful insects, and the important role they play in our lives. Learn the names, how to identify them and, most importantly, what we can all do in our daily lives to support these precious insects.

Inspired by the Moths to a Flame award winning art installation produced for COP26 in 2021, we will also be getting creative and making our own moths, celebrating their part in pollination and supporting the original project's response to the climate emergency. You're welcome to take your moth home, or you can donate it to Bore Place for our moth installation which will form part of our new farm experience. Come back soon to visit your moth!
