We're sorry, this event has now passed.

Glass fusing workshop: colour and light

Suitable for beginners, this is your chance to have a go at creating your own pieces of glass, to make two gorgeous glass pieces.

This workshop will be led by Clare Summons, artist and experienced course leader. Glass fusing means using heat to reshape, bend or join together pieces of glass. You will use raw glass during this workshop, and gain basic knowledge about some of the methods of construction in glass. You will learn to cut, file and grind glass safely with appropriate pieces of equipment to create your hanging ornaments. Millefiori, confetti and inclusions can be added to enhance your pieces.

You will be guided through each step of the creating process to gain confidence in working with glass. You will make two hanging glass ornaments, perfect for Christmas gifts or decorations to hang in your home or on your tree.

The fusing in the kiln will take place after the workshop, and you can collect your pieces 2 weeks afterwards or we can arrange postage at a small extra cost.

Clare says…“I see the world through colour and pattern, using drawing, textiles, collage and photography as the vehicles to help visualise my concepts and ideas.”

A delicious light lunch prepared using ingredients grown on site, and tea/coffee is included in the workshop fee.
