Introduction to Dragonflies and Freshwater Invertebrates

Event closed

We're sorry, this event has now passed.

Exploring in and around the ponds of Bore Place...

A practical introduction to identifying dragonflies and freshwater invertebrates, suitable for adults and children.

Dip a net into one of the many ponds at Bore Place to learn about the different groups of invertebrates that make these incredibly important habitats their home, and find out how they can also be indicators of water quality.

You'll also spend some time focusing on the flying adult dragonflies and damselflies which have emerged from the ponds, and learn to identify some of the common species on the wing.

If you have a pond at home, this session will really help you to appreciate the life in and around your pond!

  • Dress for the weather and wear suitable boots/wellies.
  • Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This training session is one of a programme of events in the Bore Place Wildlives and Wellbeing project. Keep an eye on our What’s On page for more wildlife identification training sessions, residential stays and Bioblitzes in Spring and Summer 2018. Sign up to our mailing list to keep updated.

This proPeople's Postcode Trust logoject is free thanks to funding from the Postcode Local Trust. Postcode Local Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
