Bore Place holiday and Saturday club for young people with additional needs
Supported by Kent County Council, our holiday and Saturday club for young people provides a natural break for children with additional needs. The club is for 8-17 year olds living in Kent - parents/carers are not required to stay.
What happens on the day?
Activities are tailored to individual and group needs and include hands-on cooking, environmental arts, recycled art, brickmaking, den building, pond dipping, forest activities and gardening. All activities are led by our qualified team of tutors who have more than 20 years experience teaching children with a variety of additional needs. The activities will be age differentiated and help to develop skills, confidence and self esteem appropriate to need and interests.

Cost: £12 per child. Please bring your own packed lunch.
Where: at Bore Place - directions here. You will need to provide your own transport to Bore Place. Plenty of free parking on site.

Who is this club suitable for?
We will be able to support young people who:
- can take part in and enjoy a practical learning session – cooking, art, gardening, pond dipping etc.
- who may have speech and language difficulties – we will differentiate sessions with Makaton/sign along and communicate in print resources.
- whose behaviour will not disrupt a group session.
- would like to learn about a farm environment.
- are able to take care of their own personal needs.
- may lack confidence or self-esteem.
- learns well in a practical environment.
We are able to work with children aged 8-17 who have ASD, speech and language difficulties, moderate emotional and behavioural difficulties, partial sight, deafness, physical impairment (as long as they able to care for their own personal needs), downs syndrome, and general learning delay.
All activities will be differentiated by level and pace to suit the young people involved. Please let us know if you’d like to discuss more specific needs and difficulties with the lead tutor.
