Creative monoprinting using autumn leaves
Elaine Thompson, artist and experienced course leader, is running this creative workshop taking inspiration from autumn’s natural colours and shapes to explore the creative possibilities of monoprinting.
Gather autumnal leaves from the grounds of Bore Place to inspire your printing. Elaine will introduce and demonstrate a number of different techniques and you will experiment with imprinting, stencilling, collage, drawing and layering colours and shapes, to produce some beautiful monoprints. You will be shown the technique of printing without a press using Japanese paper and a baron.
Suitable for beginners as no previous experience of printmaking is necessary. Also suitable for those with some previous experience who wish to develop their knowledge and printmaking techniques.
A light lunch will be provided along with tea and coffee. Please note any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Course fee includes all printing materials, but you will need to bring a sketchbook and drawing materials for the first part of the session.
Please arrive at 9:30am for tea/coffee, for a 10:00am start.

- Apron (we have some spares if you don't have one!)
About Elaine Thompson
Elaine Thompson is an artist based in Kent. She has exhibited her work in UK and Europe and is the recipient of various awards. She works in drawing, print and collage and is inspired by her local environment, conservation and wildlife. This year she exhibited drawings and prints inspired by woodland wildlife in Tyland Barn Gallery (Kent Wildlife Trust headquarters) in May 2017 and she exhibited work in South East Open Studios in June 2017. She delivers print workshops for children and adults in local schools, organizations and from her Garden Studio in Tonbridge.
